"That took a while. That was easily the toughest boss we've faced yet on this show. Like, the number of instakill attacks he had was unprecedented. There was no precedent for it!"

SUPER SMASH TABUU is the 13th episode of Boss Fight of the Week, hosted by Lasercorn and Sohinki, who take on Tabuu in Intense Mode in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It was released on December 20, 2012.

Description[]

End Boss Tabuu from Super Smash Bros Brawl is WAY too difficult

Synopsis[]

Boss[]

Tabuu (タブー, Tabuu) is the leader of the Subspace Army and the main antagonist and final boss of Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary in Brawl. He is a powerful supernatural entity who resides in Subspace. He uses the Subspace Bombs to send entire locations to his dimension, where he absorbs their power to increase his own.

Boss Fight[]

Lasercorn has been grinding quite a bit to the fight with Tabuu in Intense Mode, the hardest difficulty in Brawl. He and Sohinki jokingly blame and curse the viewers.

Lasercorn, playing as Kirby, starts the match alone and immediately gets a few hits in, dealing a respectable amount of damage right off the bat. Tabuu flies behind the stage and uses Off Waves, but Lasercorn manages to dodge all three of the shockwaves emanating from Tabuu's winged body. Lasercorn's Kirby turns metal and Lasercorn expresses his dislike for being metal Kirby. Tabuu continues to use a variety of moves, including Eye Lasers and Golden Bracket, but when he uses Diving Slash, which does enough knockback to kill Lasercorn's Kirby.

Sohinki takes over, playing as R.O.B. Sohinki immediately goes for Tabuu, but gets knocked around a bit. Sohinki's R.O.B. is killed after Tabuu uses Off Waves.

Lasercorn is handed the controller as the player-character switches to Meta Knight. From what is shown, he manages to get in a front aerial attack and four up tilt attacks before Tabuu uses Golden Bracket and kills him.

Sohinki, as Pit, enters the battle. Tabuu uses Ghost Projection and Eye Lasers, the latter of which allows Sohinki to get a good number of slashes at Tabuu's chin with his neutral attack. Sohinki manages to do much better, landing a good amount of melee hits, striking Tabuu with several Light Arrows while the boss is in the middle of a transformation, and dodging all three shockwaves during an Off Waves attack. Pit is eventually killed, but not before having done a lot of damage. Lasercorn mentions that they still have Diddy Kong and Captain Falcon.

Lasercorn, now as Diddy Kong, slowly whittles down Tabuu's remaining health and deals the finishing blow. Lasercorn and Sohinki celebrate.

Strategy Recap[]

SUPER SMASH TABUU Strategy Recap
  1. CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULE: The boss fight will take about an hour as players need to get used to Tabuu's wide range of moves.
  2. FLOATY CHARACTERS: Characters that can float and attack quickly, such as R.O.B. and Pit.
  3. DON'T SUCK: You need to be good at the game (especially on Intense Mode), otherwise Tabuu will simply pound you and, according to Lasercorn, give you nightmares.
  4. DODGE A LOT: Dodging and aerial dodging are important since Tabuu has plenty of aerial and area-of-effect moves.
