OUR VIDEO IDEAS STOLEN!

POKEMON IN REAL LIFE! is a Smosh video uploaded on April 22, 2011. This is the first installment in the Pokemon in Real Life Series.

Brief Synopsis: A video depicting how Pokemon battles would be in real life.

Plot

Beginning

Ash (Anthony) is on his way to catch some Pokemon, thinking about how he's gonna catch 'em all, and nothing's gonna stand in his way. Suddenly, Metrosexual Hipster, another trainer, (Ian) appears, just standing there and staring straight ahead. Ash asks an nearby old man (also Ian) what the hell Hipster is doing, and the old man tells him that the he's waiting for a person to walk past him and engage him in battle. Ash says he doesn't want to fight, but the old man tells him if he wants to get past him, he has to. He then leaves while calling Ash a "stupid jackass."

First, before walking by, Ash attempts to get the Metrosexual Hipster's attention by poking his face and shouting at him. However, he just stands still, unaffected by Ash's actions. Ash then tries to sneak past the Metrosexual Hipster, but fails, and engages in a battle. Ash explains that he doesn't want to fight, but instead just wants to capture Pokemon. The Hipster gets angry that Ash doesn't want to fight, and tells him that he's been waiting for 5 weeks straight waiting for someone to walk in front of him. Ash has no choice, so he agrees to fight.

The Battle

Ash summons Pikachu (Curtis Lepore) and the Metrosexual Hipster summons Magikarp (Lee Eisenhower). The Metrosexual Hipster tells Magikarp to use a Splash attack, however, the move doesn't affect Pikachu. So Ash tells Pikachu to use Scratch against Magikarp, dealing him massive damage putting Magikarp's heath to the red zone. Ash starts to tell Pikachu to use ThunderShock, but the Metrosexual Hipster interrupts him, saying that you can't go twice in a row and that it was his turn. However, the Metrosexual Hipster does not have any other options; he could not capture an enemy's Pokemon with a PokeBall or run away from the battle and mumbles to himself "son of a bitch", so he tells Magikarp to use a Splash attack again. Of course, the attack still doesn't affect Pikachu. Ash then orders Pikachu to attack Magikarp with ThunderShock, which reduces it to a pile of ashes and ends the fight.

After the Battle

The Metrosexual Hipster tells Ash that he got lucky, and also gives him 20 "PokeDollars" as a reward for beating him. Ash finally believes that he can capture Pokemon, however, after turning around, he sees 7 other Pokemon trainers, waiting for someone to walk past them so they could fight. The video ends with Ash saying "FUUUUU-".

Trivia/Goofs

  • Pikachu is played by the man who plays Peter Peter.
  • The old man who appeared in the beginning of video also appears at the end as a Pokemon trainer.
  • The "Thanks For Subscribing" voice says that he has a Nostalgia B0ner, this happens in every ending of the POKEMON IN REAL LIFE! series, and with each subsequent video, his Nostalgia B0ner problem seems to be getting worse.
  • If you look closely at the trainers at the end, you can see there were 4 (5 if you count the old man) Ians.
  • This is the first classic Smosh video (as in any video prior to REJECTED TWILIGHT ZONE EPISODES!) to be dubbed in Spanish and uploaded to the El Smosh channel. It is also the second video overall.
  • Pikachu used Scratch in the battle against the Metrosexual Hipster. However, Pikachu is unable to learn Scratch in any Pokémon game, however Pikachu can use scratch on some Pikachu cards from the trading card game.
