Oishi High School Battle was the eighth cartoon to air on Shut Up! Cartoons replacing Zombies vs. Ninjas. The series ran for three seasons from July 13, 2012 to August 22, 2014. The series was replaced by a spin-off, Oishi Origins.
The second season premiered on December 6th, 2013 and the third season premiered June 20, 2014.
All episodes were removed from Shut Up! Cartoons, the reason for this was because they were supposed to migrate to go90 for the cancelled sequel series Oishi Demon Hunter, but go90 ceased operations; when the crew members tried asking Defy Media to reupload all the episodes, Defy had shut down operations as well. However, a fan channel on YouTube has archived all videos to be viewed once again; it can be found here.
The cartoon is a combination of animation and live action and can be considered one of Shut Up! Cartoon's early flagship shows.
Description

Characters (Main Charaters)
Oishi Kawaii
Oishi Kawaii (大石・可愛い) is the main character of the series. Oishi is a demon hunter and the successor to her father, who was also a demon hunter but got fired because he's terrible at it. She is the new student in the high school, where she has no idea how Earth customs even work. Her weapon of choice are two kunais and she has the ability to shoot lasers out of her breasts. In Japanese, Oishi's name is spelled in Kanji, in the opening sequence, as "大石", meaning 'larger boulder' or 'great stone'. This given name is either a misnomer or likely a pun on the common Japanese expression, 'Oishī' (in Japanese: 美味しい), meaning 'tasty' or 'delicious'. Such practice of giving characters names that are puns on other words is exceedingly common in Japanese manga. Her last name, 'Kawaii' (in Japanese: 可愛い), means 'cute'. She shares a big resemblance to characters from the series Sailor Moon, as they have similar builds, clothing designs and hair styles.
Noodles
Noodles (ヌードルス "Nudorusu") is Oishi's blue dog. Noodles has been seen to have the ability to poop marshmallows and literally steal the souls of everyone who pets him. Noodles follows Oishi everywhere and everyone that passes by says that Noodles is cute, but not before Noodles does things to those people, such as stealing a girl's soul and eating Anthony and pooping him back out shaped like a marshmallow. Noodles's cute dog act is a battle tactic also, as Oishi commands him to act cute to entice even the most evil of demons. Noodles does not speak English, he speaks Japanese and he appears to be quite amorous and despite being a dog he looks exactly nothing like a dog. It is confirmed on Facebook that "Noodles has no true birthday, he was born in a realm outside of time".
Bobby Johnson
Bobby Johnson is a shy boy. He is first seen in Sleepover, where we see that Oishi has a crush on him. At the end of this episode, Oishi states that he is her new boyfriend. He is also seen in Sexting, where he becomes traumatized by Oishi's sexting pictures. 2 years later, he gets killed by Oishi's father, Ryuzu.
Ryuzu
He is Oishi's alcoholic father. He dated Mrs. Hooper in Career Day. He lost his job as Demon Slayer.
Raif
Raif is a jock who attempted to win Oishi's heart in The Crush, but was eaten by Mucusance instead. He appeared in The Gay Kid, Career Day, Sexting, and Cutting. In season 2, he does everything he could to win Oishi's heart, but ultimately fails, including bringing Banh-mi back to life thinking he was Noodles. However, at the end of Season 3, he was killed by Oishi when she found proof from Mucusance that Raif had indeed cheated on her.
Wallace
Wallace is a nerd who is bullied by the jocks. He often runs away when demons appear (The Crush, Teen Pregnancy). Oishi referred to him as "Nerdbreath" in Moving Away. When someone is obviously dead, Wallace likes to point it out by stating, "I think he's dead" (Detention, Moving Away), and he also has a propensity to overstate things; for instance, when he says "This is the greatest day of my life!" at moments that likely are not (Homecoming Dance, Teen Pregnancy).
Banh-mi (Bane-Mi)
One of Noodle's offsprings and a villain in Season 2 that was killed by Oishi, but was brought back to life by Raif when he mistakes him for Noodles. He becomes less cute and looks similar to Bane from the DC universe.
Lee
A planet-sized head that caused Ryuzu Kawaii to lose his job and sent Oishi's school into outer space.
Fred
A former homeschooled child that likes reading the Bible and becomes friends with Destroyer of Stars.
Reception
The show was given much hype and was advertised with a trailer featuring Oishi fighting Ian and Anthony, which was uploaded to Smosh with the title OISHI WILL KICK YOUR ASS!. After the trailer was released many demanded it replace Pubertina. Oishi High School Battle instead replaced Zombies vs. Ninjas. The series received positive reviews from fans.

- You can get the first season of Oishi High School Battle on iTunes called the Kawaii Collection Vol. 1.
- This is the first and only series on Shut Up! Cartoons to have a spin-off.
- The animated characters look different in the second and third season compared to the first.
- The series was nominated for "Best Animated Series" at the 3rd Streamy Awards in 2013, making it the only Shut Up! Cartoons show to be nominated for a Streamy award.
