ATTENTION: Facebook Users is a Smosh video uploaded on March 2, 2012.

SynopsisEdit

You are about to post a Facebook status, but do you think people would honestly give a f*** on what you post? Ian's here to tell you about pointless Facebook status updates that would make the average person says, "Shut the f*** up!"

The VideoEdit

Anthony was sitting in front of his laptop, bored out of his mind. He suddenly gets an idea. Anthony declares that he's going to go post a pointless status update on Facebook. But before he was able to do so, Ian yells "Stop" and freezes him in place. Ian then tells the viewer that they are watching this video because someone sent it to them for a "very specific reason." Ian says that Facebook is a great way to let your friends and family know what's going on in your life, but sometimes, you need to "shut the f**k up."

Ian tells the female viewers to stop posting vague Facebook status updates that are obviously supposed to be directed to one person and yet somehow solicits the reader's sympathy and "Giveaf**kness." A hot girl was holding a sign containing the definition of the word. The word is defined as the act of giving a f**k over a certain subject. Ian then gives a few examples of such posts.

A girl named Chrissa (played by Anthony) was seen crying and posts on her Facebook wall, "Wow thanks a LOT for that thing that you did. I'm NEVER talking to you again!!!" Ian gives the Giveaf**kness level a 0 before moving onto the next girl. Another girl named Arielle (played by Anthony) angrily posts on her Facebook wall, "Brad told me about that thing you did at summer camp. WOW skank much?" Ian says that while it's great that you told people about whoever you're talking about doing "something at someplace and that this 'Brad' guy told you about it," he then honestly admits that "no one on your friends list gives a f**k." Ian then shows his favorite pointless post. A crying girl named Jessica (played by Anthony) posts, "NEVER AGAIN..." Ian then shows the viewers a hot girl holding a pie chart representing girls' status updates on his feed. He points to a tiny blue sliver that represents how often he gives a f**k about a girl's status update, while a large red section represents how often he doesn't. Ian then says that girls aren't the only people that should "shut the f**k up" and shows some appropriate moments when guys should "STFU."

Ian advises the male viewers to "take a step back" and ask themselves before they post, "Is this something that I really want to be telling everyone?" Ian also suggests that the male viewers should imagine sitting in front of their mom and telling her what they're about to post before he gives an example of a real post. A guy named Victor (played by Anthony) was sitting on the toilet in front of his mom, telling her his status: "So I woke up super-glued to the toilet seat. And the toilet was filled with poop. I mean FILLED, like 10 people just decided not to flush. I started gagging so I flushed the toilet... and then it started overflowing with me still glued to the seat. So there I was, glued to the toilet and being hit with wave after wave of other people's poop." After hearing the entire story however, Victor's mom ends up throwing up.

Ian then admits that the post was "awesome." He tells the guys to keep posting that stuff, but then tells the girls, "SHUT THE F**K UP!"

Deleted SceneEdit

Ian says that he loves sharing knowledge with others and that's how we grow as human begins, but most of the time you should shut the f**k up.

EpilogueEdit

After the Subscription Ending, there is about a second of black before Ian turns to the camera and says "And, unfreeze." It goes back to Anthony, now being able to move. He was about to hit the button when he sees all of the random objects that were placed on him throughout the video and screams.

Trivia/GoofsEdit

  • The posts displayed in the video were actual Facebook posts with icons and last names blurred out.
  • So far, this video is the #1 record of usage of the word "f**k," having been used exactly 9 times.
  • This is the third 2012 Smosh video that had neither Ian or Anthony die as themselves or in character.
  • On 1:33, the hot girl holding the pie chart suddenly changed to a man.
  • This is the first time there was a small epilogue at the end of the "Thanks 4 Subscribing" Ending
  • Anthony's screensaver was a chihuahua with blue hair and cupcakes on it (lan calls it the Katy Perry Dog).
  • In the epilogue, Anthony has a yellow bandana on his hand. But when he gets unfrozen, the bandana disappears.
  • If one can look closely and pause the video at the right time, when the announcer is talking about watching the extras, the poster regarding the "Give a F**kness" level really says f**k.
  • On 0:46 Ian is wearing 8 shirts: 7 sweatshirts plus his blue shirt.
  • Chrissa and Arielle (both played by Anthony) highly resemble Antoinette (Anthony's sister).

Subscription EndingEdit

Thanks for subscribing! Now I'm gonna go post a pointless status update on Facebook! *BANG* AUGH! Never mind...

Shut Up! OpeningEdit

Son, can I please be your Facebook friend? Please? Please? Plea-SHUT UP!
